BrotherStrong Weekly Encouragement and Prayer
Healthy Black Man Challenge Week 19
Focus: Healthy Self, Self Respect and Boundaries
Week of May 11, 2026
Theme: "Protect Your Peace"
Weekly Encouragement
Brother,
Everything does not deserve access to you.
Not every conversation. Not every relationship. Not every environment. Not every demand.
Self respect is not arrogance. It is understanding your value enough to protect your peace.
Many Black men were taught how to provide for others before learning how to care for themselves. So we overextend. We carry too much. We tolerate what drains us. We remain silent when boundaries are needed.
But healthy men understand this truth.
Boundaries are not walls to keep people out. They are standards that protect what matters most.
You can love people and still say no. You can care deeply and still create limits. You can be kind without abandoning yourself.
This week is about protecting your energy, your time, your peace, and your purpose.
Not from a place of anger. But from a place of growth.
Respect yourself enough to stop giving access to things that constantly disrupt your peace.
Weekly Prayer
God,
Teach us how to honor ourselves in healthy ways.
Help us recognize when we are giving too much of ourselves away and neglecting our own well being.
Give us wisdom to establish boundaries with grace and confidence. Help us to protect our peace without guilt. Help us to say yes intentionally and no when necessary.
Surround us with relationships that respect who we are becoming.
Strengthen us to choose peace over pressure and purpose over people pleasing.
Amen.
Weekly Activation: Protect Your Peace
Mind: Identify one area in your life where stronger boundaries are needed. Be honest about what has been draining you.
Body: Take one intentional hour this week for yourself without interruption. Rest, reflect, exercise, or simply breathe.
Spirit: Pray for discernment regarding relationships, environments, and commitments that affect your peace.
Boundary Question: What do I need to protect so I can continue growing?
Continue the Journey
We invite you to continue walking with us at the AsONE Prayer Walk on May 16, 2026 at Festival Park in downtown Fayetteville.
This gathering will bring together people from across the community for unity, prayer, healing, and hope.
Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring your community.
Let us continue building stronger men, stronger families, and stronger communities together.
Weekly Affirmation
"I respect myself. I protect my peace. I establish healthy boundaries."
A Word to Black Women Reading This
Healthy boundaries help create healthy men.
Many Black men have spent years carrying responsibilities without ever learning how to protect their own peace. Encouragement from you can help remind them that self respect and boundaries are necessary, not selfish.
We invite you to continue sharing the Healthy Black Man Challenge each week with every Black man you know.
Encourage him to protect his peace. Encourage him to establish healthy boundaries. Encourage him to prioritize growth and emotional well being.
Also, we invite you and your family to join us for the AsONE Prayer Walk on May 16, 2026 at Festival Park in downtown Fayetteville.
This will be a powerful moment of prayer, unity, and community connection.
When you share this message, you help a man choose peace. You help him protect his growth. You help him continue becoming the healthiest version of himself.
Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for sharing each week. Thank you for believing in the growth and healing of Black men.
Until all have been touched... keep reaching!
