BrotherStrong Weekly Encouragement and Prayer
Healthy Black Man Challenge Week 22
Focus: Healthy Self, Communication and Healthy Expression
Week of June 1, 2026
Theme: "Say What Needs To Be Said"
Weekly Encouragement
Brother,
One of the greatest challenges many men face is not what they feel.
It is what they never say.
For generations, Black men have been taught to suppress emotions, hide pain, and carry burdens in silence. We learned how to survive without learning how to express ourselves.
The problem is that what remains unspoken does not disappear.
It often becomes frustration. It becomes distance. It becomes misunderstanding. It becomes anger.
Healthy communication is not about talking more. It is about communicating honestly.
Strong men know how to express their thoughts with clarity. Healthy men know how to express their emotions with maturity.
Communication is not weakness. It is wisdom.
This week, challenge yourself to say what needs to be said.
Express appreciation. Share your concerns. Have the difficult conversation. Speak your truth respectfully.
The conversations you avoid often become the problems you carry.
Do not allow silence to become your prison.
Use your voice.
Weekly Prayer
God,
Thank You for giving us a voice.
Help us use it wisely.
Teach us how to communicate with honesty, humility, and grace.
Help us express our thoughts and emotions in ways that build understanding rather than division.
Give us courage to have conversations we have been avoiding. Give us wisdom to listen as much as we speak.
Help us become men who communicate clearly, love deeply, and resolve conflict peacefully.
Let our words bring healing, encouragement, and truth.
Amen.
Weekly Activation: Use Your Voice
Mind: Identify one conversation you have been avoiding. Make a plan to have it this week.
Soul: Express gratitude to three people who have positively impacted your life. Tell them directly.
Spirit: Pray before every important conversation this week. Ask God to guide your words and your heart.
Communication Question: What needs to be said that I have been holding inside?
Continuing the Journey
The Healthy Black Man Challenge is not just about physical health.
It is about becoming healthier mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally.
Healthy communication strengthens families. Healthy communication strengthens friendships. Healthy communication strengthens communities.
Keep growing. Keep learning. Keep speaking life.
Weekly Affirmation
"I communicate with honesty. I listen with humility. I use my voice to build, not destroy."
A Word to Black Women Reading This
Communication is one of the most important skills any relationship can have.
Many Black men were taught how to work hard, provide, and persevere. Few were taught how to communicate emotions in healthy ways.
Growth in this area changes everything.
We invite you to continue sharing the Healthy Black Man Challenge each week with every Black man you know.
Encourage him to communicate honestly. Encourage him to express what he feels. Encourage him to have conversations that lead to healing and understanding.
Your encouragement can help create space for healthier dialogue and stronger relationships.
When you share this challenge, you are helping men develop skills that positively impact families, friendships, workplaces, and communities.
Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for sharing each week. Thank you for believing in the continued growth and healing of Black men.
Weekly Challenge for Women
This week, encourage one Black man in your life by asking a simple question:
"How are you really doing?"
Then listen.
Not to respond. Not to fix. Just to understand.
Sometimes healing begins when someone feels heard.
Closing Reminder
Healthy men build healthy families. Healthy families build healthy communities. Healthy communities change the world.
The work continues.
One conversation at a time. One relationship at a time. One healthy Black man at a time.
Until all have been touched... keep reaching!
