Healthy Black Man Challenge Week 24: Appreciate the Journey

BrotherStrong Weekly Encouragement and Prayer
Healthy Black Man Challenge Week 24
Focus: Healthy Self, Gratitude and Perspective
Week of June 15, 2026
Theme: "Appreciate the Journey"

Weekly Encouragement

Brother,

Sometimes growth happens so gradually that we fail to recognize it.

We become so focused on where we want to go that we forget how far we have already come.

Take a moment this week and look back.

Look at the obstacles you survived. Look at the lessons you learned. Look at the habits you've changed. Look at the strength you've developed.

You may not be where you want to be yet.

But you are not where you used to be.

Gratitude changes perspective.

It reminds us that even in difficult seasons, there are blessings worth celebrating. Even in the middle of growth, there are victories worth acknowledging.

Too many men spend their lives focusing on what they lack while overlooking what they have.

This week, challenge yourself to notice the good.

Be grateful for your health. Be grateful for your progress. Be grateful for the people who support you. Be grateful for another opportunity to grow.

A grateful heart creates a healthier man.

Weekly Prayer

God,

Thank You for Your faithfulness.

Thank You for every lesson, every blessing, and every opportunity You have provided.

Thank You for carrying us through challenges we thought would break us. Thank You for opening doors we never imagined. Thank You for the people You have placed in our lives.

Help us develop hearts of gratitude.

When we become frustrated, remind us to be thankful. When we become discouraged, remind us of how far we have come. When we become distracted, remind us of what truly matters.

Teach us to appreciate the journey and trust You with the destination.

Amen.

Weekly Activation: Count the Blessings

Mind: Write down ten things you are grateful for today.

Soul: Reach out to one person who has positively impacted your life and thank them personally.

Spirit: Spend five minutes each day this week thanking God before asking Him for anything.

Reflection Question: What blessings have I overlooked because I have been focused on what I do not have?

Midyear Reflection

Brother, we are nearly halfway through the Healthy Black Man Challenge.

For twenty four weeks you have been challenged to grow mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Take time this week to celebrate progress.

Growth deserves acknowledgment.

You are doing the work.

Keep going.

Weekly Affirmation

"I am grateful for where I am. I am thankful for how far I have come. I trust the journey ahead."

A Word to Black Women Reading This

Gratitude has a way of changing how we see ourselves and each other.

Many Black men spend so much time carrying responsibilities that they rarely stop to acknowledge their progress. Encouragement and appreciation can be powerful fuel for continued growth.

We invite you to continue sharing the Healthy Black Man Challenge each week with every Black man you know.

Encourage him to celebrate his progress. Encourage him to recognize his growth. Encourage him to appreciate how far he has come.

Sometimes a simple expression of appreciation can make a bigger difference than you realize.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us. Thank you for sharing each week. Thank you for believing in the growth, healing, and development of Black men.

Weekly Challenge for Women

This week, encourage a Black man by telling him something you genuinely appreciate about him.

Be specific.

Tell him what you admire. Tell him what he is doing well. Tell him how he has positively impacted your life or the lives of others.

You never know how much a sincere word of encouragement may mean.

Closing Reminder

Healthy men are not only focused on the future.

They appreciate the present.

They honor the journey.

They remain grateful while continuing to grow.

Keep growing, brother. Your best days are still ahead.

Happy Juneteenth!!!

Until all have been touched... keep reaching!
