BrotherStrong Weekly Encouragement and Prayer
Healthy Black Man Challenge Week 25
Focus: Healthy Self, Personal Responsibility
Week of June 22, 2026
Theme: "The Man in the Mirror"
Weekly Encouragement
Brother,
Growth begins where excuses end.
One of the most powerful moments in a man's life is when he stops looking around and starts looking within.
Not at what someone else did. Not at what someone else failed to do. Not at what life handed him.
But at himself.
Personal responsibility is not about blame. It is about ownership.
It is the willingness to say:
I am responsible for my choices. I am responsible for my growth. I am responsible for my healing. I am responsible for the man I am becoming.
There are things that happened to you that were not your fault.
But your future is still your responsibility.
That truth is not meant to shame you. It is meant to empower you.
The moment you take ownership of your life is the moment you regain your power.
This week, challenge yourself to stop focusing on what is outside of your control and focus on what is within your control.
The man in the mirror has more power than he realizes.
Weekly Prayer
God,
Thank You for the gift of responsibility.
Help us to embrace ownership of our lives with courage and humility.
Teach us to stop making excuses and start making progress.
Give us the wisdom to focus on what we can control. Give us the discipline to make better decisions. Give us the strength to grow through challenges rather than avoid them.
Help us become men who lead ourselves well before trying to lead others.
Let us be honest with ourselves and committed to becoming better every day.
Amen.
Weekly Activation: Own It
Mind: Identify one area of your life where you have been making excuses. Write down one action you can take this week to move forward.
Soul: Ask yourself this question and answer honestly: "What is one thing I need to take greater responsibility for?"
Spirit: Pray each day this week for wisdom, discipline, and accountability.
Reflection Question: What would change in my life if I fully owned my growth?
Midyear Check In
Brother, you have now completed twenty five weeks of intentional growth.
You have worked on your discipline. Your healing. Your communication. Your boundaries. Your leadership. Your gratitude.
Take a moment this week and acknowledge your progress.
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is progress.
Keep going.
Weekly Affirmation
"I take responsibility for my life. I own my growth. I have the power to change my future."
A Word to Black Women Reading This
One of the greatest gifts you can offer a man is encouragement toward personal growth and accountability.
Personal responsibility is not about criticism. It is about empowerment.
Healthy men take ownership of their actions, decisions, healing, and growth.
We invite you to continue sharing the Healthy Black Man Challenge each week with every Black man you know.
Encourage him to take ownership of his future. Encourage him to believe that growth is possible. Encourage him to keep showing up for himself.
Your encouragement can reinforce the positive changes many men are working hard to make.
Thank you for continuing to stand with us. Thank you for sharing each week. Thank you for believing in the growth, healing, and development of Black men.
Weekly Challenge for Women
This week, encourage a Black man by reminding him of a strength you see in him.
Not what he does.
Who he is.
Remind him of the character, resilience, leadership, or integrity you see growing in his life.
Sometimes people need someone else to see their progress before they can see it themselves.
Closing Reminder
The strongest men are not those who avoid responsibility.
They are the men who embrace it.
Look in the mirror.
The man capable of changing your future is already looking back at you.
Until all have been touched... keep reaching!
Jeremy
