Healthy Black Man Challenge Week 28: Show Me Your Circle

BrotherStrong Weekly Encouragement and Prayer
Healthy Black Man Challenge Week 28
Focus: Healthy Self, Your Circle Matters
Week of July 13, 2026
Theme: "Show Me Your Circle"

Weekly Encouragement

Brother,

There is an old saying that reminds us, "Show me your friends, and I'll show you your future."

The people closest to you have influence.

They influence how you think. How you speak. How you spend your time. How you see yourself. Even how high you believe you can climb.

Healthy men understand that brotherhood is more than having people around you.

It is having the right people around you.

Men who celebrate your success instead of competing with it.

Men who tell you the truth instead of what you want to hear.

Men who challenge your excuses and encourage your growth.

Men who pray for you.

Men who hold you accountable.

Ask yourself this week.

Does my circle challenge me to become a better man?

Or does it make me comfortable remaining the same man?

Sometimes growth requires expanding your circle.

Sometimes it requires shrinking it.

Not because you think you're better than anyone.

But because you are committed to becoming better.

Healthy men choose relationships that strengthen their purpose.

Remember this.

The people walking beside you often determine how far you will go.

Choose wisely.

Weekly Prayer

God,

Thank You for placing people in our lives.

Help us recognize the relationships that encourage growth and the relationships that distract us from our purpose.

Surround us with brothers who sharpen us.

Give us friends who speak truth with love.

Give us mentors who share wisdom with humility.

Help us become the kind of friend we are asking You to send into our lives.

Teach us to encourage others as we continue growing ourselves.

Amen.

Weekly Activation: Evaluate Your Circle

Mind: Write down the names of the five people you spend the most time with. Ask yourself this question. How does each relationship influence the man I am becoming?

Body: Invite one brother to join you for a walk, a workout, or a healthy meal this week.

Spirit: Pray for every man in your circle by name. If there is someone you need to encourage, reach out this week.

Reflection Question: Am I surrounding myself with people who challenge me to become healthier, wiser, and stronger?

The Journey Continues

Healthy men do not grow alone.

They grow together.

Continue investing in yourself.

Continue investing in healthy relationships.

Continue becoming the man God created you to be.

Remember, this year is about building a healthy self.

Everything else will grow from that foundation.

Weekly Affirmation

"I choose relationships that strengthen my purpose. I encourage my brothers. I surround myself with men who help me grow."

A Word to Black Women Reading This

Healthy brotherhood changes lives.

Many Black men have never experienced a circle where honesty, accountability, encouragement, and growth are normal.

You can help change that.

Continue encouraging the Black men in your life to build healthy relationships with other men who challenge them to grow.

Healthy men need healthy brothers.

We also invite you to continue sharing the Healthy Black Man Challenge every week with every Black man you know.

Share it with your sons. Share it with your husband or partner. Share it with your father. Share it with your brothers. Share it with your coworkers and friends.

Someone in your life may be one encouraging conversation away from changing the direction of his future.

Thank you for believing in Black men. Thank you for praying for Black men. Thank you for encouraging Black men.

Thank you for standing with BrotherStrong as we continue building healthier men, stronger families, and stronger communities.

Weekly Challenge for Women

This week, encourage one Black man to spend intentional time with another positive Black man.

Whether it is over breakfast, coffee, a workout, or simply a phone call, encourage him to strengthen healthy brotherhood.

Healthy conversations build healthy men.

Closing Reflection

Brother,

You are becoming the man you prayed to become.

Do not make the journey alone.

Walk with brothers who challenge your character.

Celebrate your victories.

Correct you when necessary.

Pray with you consistently.

Because healthy men do not simply change their own lives.

They help other men rise with them.

Your future is still waiting on the man you are becoming.

Until all have been touched... keep reaching!

Jeremy
