Healthy Black Man Challenge Week 30: Don't Waste Your Wounds

BrotherStrong Weekly Encouragement and Prayer
Healthy Black Man Challenge Week 30
Focus: Healthy Self, Your Purpose Is Greater Than Your Pain
Week of July 27, 2026
Theme: "Don't Waste Your Wounds"

Weekly Encouragement

Brother,

Every scar tells a story.

Some stories are filled with triumph.

Others are marked by heartbreak. Disappointment. Loss. Rejection. Failure. Abandonment.

Many Black men spend years trying to hide their wounds because they believe their pain makes them weak.

The truth is just the opposite.

Your wounds may become one of your greatest sources of wisdom.

Not because they happened.

But because you refused to let them define you.

The greatest testimonies are not born from easy lives.

They are born from men who kept walking after life knocked them down.

Think about your own journey.

The obstacles you have overcome. The prayers God answered. The doors He opened. The lessons you learned.

Now ask yourself this question.

How can my story help someone else?

Your purpose is bigger than your pain.

The struggle was never meant to stop you.

It was preparing you.

One day, another brother will need to hear how you survived.

One day, a young man will need your example.

One day, your story will become someone else's hope.

Do not waste your wounds.

Let them become wisdom.

Let them become strength.

Let them become purpose.

Weekly Prayer

God,

Thank You for never wasting our pain.

Even in our darkest moments, You were present.

Even in our greatest disappointments, You were working.

Help us to stop seeing our scars as something to hide.

Teach us to see them as reminders of Your faithfulness.

Give us courage to use our experiences to encourage someone else.

Turn our pain into purpose.

Turn our setbacks into testimonies.

Turn our struggles into opportunities to serve.

Help us become men whose lives point others toward hope.

Amen.

Weekly Activation: Your Story Has Power

Mind: Write about one difficult experience that changed your life. Focus on what it taught you instead of only what it cost you.

Body: Encourage another brother this week by inviting him to join you for a healthy activity or conversation.

Spirit: Pray for someone who may be walking through a struggle you have already overcome.

Reflection Question: What part of my story could encourage another man to keep going?

The Journey Continues

Healthy men do not pretend they have never been broken.

Healthy men allow God to heal what was broken and then use that healing to help someone else.

Remember, this first year is about becoming healthy yourself.

As you continue healing, you are also becoming a source of healing for others.

Keep growing. Keep believing. Keep becoming.

Weekly Affirmation

"My past does not define me. My pain has purpose. My story can inspire another man to keep moving forward."

A Word to Black Women Reading This

Every Black man has a story.

Some stories are spoken.

Many are not.

Behind the strength people see is often a journey filled with sacrifice, disappointment, perseverance, and quiet victories.

When you encourage a Black man, you are encouraging everything he has fought to overcome.

We invite you to continue sharing the Healthy Black Man Challenge each week with every Black man you know.

Share it with your son. Share it with your husband or partner. Share it with your father. Share it with your brothers. Share it with your coworkers and your friends.

Help remind the men in your life that their past does not disqualify them.

Their story matters. Their healing matters. Their future matters.

Thank you for continuing to stand with us. Thank you for praying with us. Thank you for believing in Black men.

Weekly Challenge for Women

This week, ask one Black man this question: "What is one challenge you've overcome that you're proud of today?"

Then simply listen.

Celebrate his resilience.

Honor his journey.

Remind him that his story has value.

Closing Reflection

Brother,

Someone you have never met is waiting on the wisdom that only your journey can provide.

Do not hide your testimony.

Do not minimize your growth.

Do not forget how far you have come.

Your greatest ministry may not be found behind a microphone.

It may be found in an honest conversation with another man who is struggling to believe he can make it.

Your purpose is greater than your pain.

And your story is still being written.

Until all have been touched... keep reaching!
