Weekly Encouragement

Brother,

Everybody gets twenty four hours in a day.

But not everybody has the same responsibilities, resources, opportunities, or demands on their time.

Some of us are working two jobs.

Some of us are raising children.

Some of us are caring for aging parents.

Some of us are building businesses.

Some of us are serving our churches and communities.

Some of us are simply trying to make it through another day.

And sometimes, with everything we have going on, it feels like there is never enough time.

But brother, here is a question worth asking:

Are you managing your time, or is your time managing you?

We spend time.

We waste time.

We invest time.

We give time away.

We lose track of time.

And sometimes we allow other people to determine how our time will be used.

But time is one of the most valuable resources we have.

You can lose money and earn more.

You can lose possessions and replace them.

You can miss an opportunity and sometimes find another.

But you cannot recover yesterday.

You cannot purchase another hour of last week.

And you cannot reclaim moments you have already given away.

Brother, this is not about becoming obsessed with productivity.

It is about becoming intentional with your life.

Because your time is your life.

Every hour you spend is an hour of your life you will never get back.

So what are you giving your hours to?

Are you making time for your health?

Are you making time for your spiritual growth?

Are you making time for the people who matter?

Are you making time for the dreams you keep talking about?

Are you making time for rest?

Are you making time for joy?

Or are you so busy responding to everything around you that you have stopped being intentional about what matters most?

Brother, being busy is not the same as being productive.

And being productive is not always the same as being fulfilled.

You can fill every hour of your calendar and still feel like you are missing your life.

You can accomplish a hundred things and still neglect the one thing that matters most.

You can spend your entire day doing what everybody else needs and never make time for what you need.

This week, I want you to understand something.

You do not have to do everything.

You have to become intentional about the things that matter.

Some things need your attention.

Some things need to be scheduled.

Some things need to be delegated.

Some things need to wait.

And some things need to be removed from your life altogether.

Brother, do not spend your life being busy without being intentional.

Because one day, the question will not be how much you accomplished.

It will be whether you gave your time to the things that truly mattered.

Weekly Prayer

God,

Thank You for the gift of time.

Thank You for every day You allow us to wake up and experience life.

Forgive us for the moments we have taken time for granted.

Forgive us for the opportunities we have wasted.

Forgive us for allowing distractions, unnecessary obligations, and misplaced priorities to consume the moments You have given us.

Teach us to number our days with wisdom.

Help us recognize what deserves our attention.

Give us discipline to manage our responsibilities.

Give us courage to say no when necessary.

Give us wisdom to know when to work and when to rest.

Help us make time for our health.

Help us make time for our families.

Help us make time for meaningful relationships.

Help us make time for our spiritual growth.

And help us make time for the purpose You have placed within us.

Remind us that our value is not measured by how busy we are.

Teach us to live intentionally rather than simply react to everything happening around us.

And when our days are finished, let our lives reflect that we were faithful stewards of the time You entrusted to us.

Amen.

Weekly Activation: Week 44 Challenge

Theme: Take Ownership of Your Time

Mind: Conduct a personal time audit this week.

For one full day, pay attention to how you spend your time.

Write down how much time you spend working, scrolling, watching television, handling responsibilities, resting, and doing things that contribute to your personal growth.

Then ask yourself:

"Does the way I spend my time reflect what I say matters most to me?"

Identify one adjustment you can make.

Body: Schedule at least three intentional periods this week to care for your physical health.

It might be thirty minutes of walking.

A workout.

Meal preparation.

An earlier bedtime.

Or time to attend a medical appointment.

Put it on your calendar.

Treat it as an important commitment.

Because it is.

Spirit: Begin each morning this week with a simple prayer:

"God, help me use today wisely."

Then identify your three most important priorities for the day.

Before going to bed, reflect on whether you gave your time to what mattered.

Reflection Question: If someone examined how I spent my time over the past thirty days, what would they conclude matters most to me?

The Journey Continues

Brother,

Forty four weeks into the Healthy Black Man Challenge, we have spent nearly an entire year examining what it means to become a healthier man.

We have talked about our bodies.

Our emotions.

Our minds.

Our relationships.

Our finances.

Our faith.

Our discipline.

Our peace.

Our joy.

Our purpose.

And our identity.

Now we must examine how we make room for all of those things.

Because knowing what matters is not enough.

We must learn how to give those things our attention.

You can say your health matters, but never make time for it.

You can say your faith matters, but never make time to nurture it.

You can say your family matters, but give them only what is left after everybody else has received your attention.

You can say your dreams matter, but spend every available moment distracted by something else.

Brother, intentions without action eventually become regrets.

And one of the most practical ways to turn intentions into action is to give them a place in your life.

Put it on the calendar.

Make the appointment.

Set the reminder.

Create the routine.

Protect the time.

But remember, the goal is not to fill every available minute.

The goal is to make sure your time reflects your values.

As we approach the end of 2026, begin thinking about the life you want to live in 2027.

Not just what you want to accomplish.

But how you want to spend your days.

Because the quality of your life is shaped, in part, by the way you use your time.

Weekly Affirmation

My time is valuable.

I will not confuse being busy with being purposeful.

I make time for what matters.

I have the wisdom to establish priorities.

I have the courage to say no when necessary.

I will use my time to build a healthier, more meaningful life.

My time is my life, and I will live intentionally.

A Word to Black Women Reading This

To every Black woman reading this,

This week, we are encouraging Black men to become more intentional with their time.

Many Black men are carrying responsibilities that consume much of their day.

Work.

Family.

Financial obligations.

Community commitments.

Personal expectations.

And sometimes, after giving so much of themselves to everybody else, there is very little time left for their own health, rest, growth, and enjoyment.

This week, help us remind Black men that their time matters too.

That taking care of themselves deserves a place on the calendar.

That their dreams deserve attention.

That their health deserves priority.

That their rest deserves protection.

And that they do not have to be available to everybody all the time.

Please continue sharing the Healthy Black Man Challenge each week with every Black man you know.

Share it with your son.

Share it with your husband or partner.

Share it with your father.

Share it with your brothers.

Share it with your coworkers and friends.

Invite every Black man you know to join us as we continue becoming healthier in body, soul, and spirit.

Thank you for encouraging Black men to be intentional.

Thank you for respecting the importance of their personal growth.

Thank you for reminding us that taking time to care for ourselves is not selfish.

And thank you for continuing to believe in the men we are becoming.

Weekly Challenge for Women

This week, ask one Black man in your life:

"If you had two uninterrupted hours just for yourself this week, how would you spend them?"

Then listen.

Maybe he would rest.

Maybe he would exercise.

Maybe he would read.

Maybe he would work on a personal goal.

Maybe he would simply enjoy doing nothing.

Encourage him to make time for it.

And if appropriate, help him protect that time.

Not because he has completed every responsibility.

But because his well being matters too.

Closing Reflection

Brother,

One day, you will look back over your life.

You will remember the people.

The places.

The opportunities.

The accomplishments.

The challenges.

The moments that changed you.

And perhaps you will wish you had spent more time doing certain things.

More time with your children.

More time with your parents.

More time taking care of yourself.

More time pursuing your dreams.

More time enjoying life.

More time doing what mattered.

Brother, do not wait until those moments become memories before you recognize their value.

You cannot change yesterday.

You cannot control everything tomorrow will bring.

But you can become more intentional with today.

Make the call.

Take the walk.

Read the book.

Schedule the appointment.

Spend time with your family.

Work on the dream.

Take the vacation when it is responsibly possible.

Enjoy the moment.

And make room for yourself.

Because life is not simply measured by how many years you live.

It is also shaped by what you do with the years you are given.

Brother, your time is your life.

Spend it on what matters.

Until all have been touched... keep reaching!
